Thunderbird Pictures - Peter McAlevey

With three movies released in 1997, "Back to Business" (starring Brian Bosworth), "Champions" (starring Lee Reherman) and "Klash" (starring Jasmine Guy and Giancarlo Esposito) -- Peter McAlevey is one of the busiest producers in Hollywood right now. In addition to producing "Champions", McAlevey also helped create the film's underlying story. McAlevey is currently president of Thunderbird Pictures, which has been involved with the production of such films as "Killing Zoe" (starring Eric Stolz, Julie Delprey), and"Born to Run" (starring Richard Grieco). "Champions" marks Thunderbird's fifth feature film. He also co-produced and co-wrote Jet Pilot, an aviation video for children and young adults.

McAlevey is former production vp at Michael Douglas' Stonebridge Entertainment and Stone Group Pictures. During his tenure there, he oversaw every aspect of motion picture development on such films as "Radio Flyer", "Flatliners", "Hard Promises", "Double Impact" (with Jean Claude Van Damme) and "Stone Cold" (starring Brian Bosworth). McAlevey also served as co-executive producer on "Radio Flyer" and as executive producer of "Hard Promises."

Prior to Stonebridge and Stone Group, McAlevey served as a vp of production at Walt Disney Studios where he reported directly to Studio Chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg, a founding partner of Dreamworks SKG. Before his involvement in the entertainment industry, McAlevey spent many years as a national journalist. He was a contributing editor and a columnist for Savvy Magazine; a correspondent for Newsweek in Los Angeles as well as a business reporter for Newsweek in New York; a reporter and researcher for Inside Sports Magazine and a freelance writer for such publications as The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Business Week, Forbes, TV Guide (Canada), Televizier (Netherlands), etc.

Since 1992, McAlevey has been a member of the board of directors of the American Film Institute's Third Decade Council and has taught a course at UCLA on "Surviving As An Independent Producer." A native of upstate New York, he is a graduate of New York's Columbia University, where he distinguished himself as a recipient of the Bennett Cerf Memorial Prize for Writing (among other honors).
